What is Cooperative Learning
Put simply, Cooperative learning
is a teaching strategy classroom teachers use to help their students
process information more quickly by having them work in small groups to
accomplish a common goal. Each member that is in the group is
responsible for learning the information given, and also for helping

When it comes to cooperative learning techniques, I was surprised to
learn that the jigsaw strategy has been used for over 30 years in the
classroom. Additionally,
studies indicate that the use of this strategy increases positive
educational outcomes and reduces racial conflict.
If you haven't had a chance to use the jigsaw strategy, I would highly
recommend it.
Just as in a jigsaw puzzle, each piece--each student's part--is essential for the completion and full understanding of the final product. If each student's part is essential, then each student is essential.
